There will be a SIGMAA on RUME Research-to-Practice Session during MathFest in Boulder, Colorado: July 31 - August 2, 2003. Detailed information about MathFest appeared in the February issue of the Mathematical Association of America's monthly magazine, FOCUS.

The Special Interest Group of the MAA on Research in Undergraduate Mathematics Education
Research-to-Practice Session
Friday, August 1, 2003 from 3:15 pm to 5:15 p.m.

The SIGMAA on RUME invites contributions that address research issues concerning the teaching and learning of undergraduate mathematics. This session will be devoted to exposition of research results and use of research (RUME) in teaching. Priority will be given to proposals that include summaries of research results together with implications for the classroom, or specific examples describing how research results have informed instruction in actual college classrooms. Proposals must clearly describe the research and the classroom aspects of the presentation, as well as the relationship between them.

Deadline: Proposals must be received by Anne Brown, Program Chair, by May 6th 2003.

Proposal Submission: Send the name(s) and address(es) of the author(s) and a one-page summary of your paper -- as a text-only email -- directly to Anne Brown, abrown@iusb.edu.
